When Everything Felt Out of Place
There was a time in my life when I felt completely lost, as if nothing within me fit together anymore. I had spent years trying to get pregnant without success, and that ongoing struggle gradually became harder and harder to bear. Frustration turned into anxiety, and anxiety into a quiet depression that I tried to hide from others—and from myself. On the outside, I kept going, but inside I felt empty, disconnected, and without direction. I knew I needed a real change in my life, something that could help me move beyond that state, but I had no idea where to begin or which path to take.
The Curiosity That Opened a Door
For a long time, I walked past a yoga studio in my neighborhood almost every day. There was something about that place that sparked my curiosity, yet at the same time I felt that yoga was the complete opposite of who I was—as if it simply wasn’t meant for someone like me. Still, there was a small voice inside me that kept insisting.
One day, without overthinking it, I decided to walk in and ask when I could try a class. “Right now,” Dani replied with a smile. That simple, spontaneous answer marked the beginning of something far greater than I could have imagined. Without a plan and without expectations, I took the first step on a path that would eventually transform my life completely.
Dani: A Guide Who Sees Beyond
I connected with Dani in a very natural way, almost without realizing it. To me, he is much more than a yoga teacher—he is someone who knows how to guide and support people from a deeply human, simple, and authentic place. He doesn’t rely on complicated rituals or extreme methods. Instead, he helps you go deep by focusing on the basics, on what is truly essential.
Dani has a unique ability to observe you and see things within you that you may not yet be able to see yourself. Rather than imposing his views, he gently invites you to discover them on your own. His words, his presence, and his way of teaching have helped me not only in class but also in my everyday life. Thanks to him, I began to see myself differently, to observe myself without judgment, and to develop a deeper understanding of who I am.
The Inner Journey That Changed Everything
Little by little, yoga began to transform my life far beyond the physical practice. I started changing my habits, paying more attention to my nutrition, and becoming aware of my emotions and what was happening inside me. It was a profound process, even though at first I didn’t fully understand it.
Then something happened that had seemed impossible for years: I became pregnant. For me, it was incredibly powerful and deeply symbolic. My pregnancy was challenging, but yoga was there every step of the way, supporting me when I needed it most. During difficult periods such as COVID, hospital stays, and emotionally intense moments, yoga was always there.
That is why I often say that yoga saved me, because I truly felt that it held me up when I could no longer hold myself up alone.
Learning to Support Myself
Over time, I came to understand that yoga does not do the work for you, but it gives you powerful tools to support yourself throughout the journey. For me, it is like a “vitamin boost”—I leave every practice feeling renewed, lighter, and more connected to myself. Sometimes it also challenges me, confronts me, and encourages me to keep exploring. It becomes an inner dialogue where I ask myself: What am I feeling? How far do I want to go? What do I need today?
Through this process, my body changed, and so did my mind. I achieved something that had seemed out of reach for years: becoming pregnant. But beyond that, the most important thing is that I learned how to pause, breathe, and find calm in the midst of chaos.
Returning to Myself and Choosing Calm Every Day
Today, I can say that I no longer live with the anxiety or depression that once defined so much of my life. And if those feelings ever return, I know exactly where to turn. I know there is a place within me that I can always come back to.
Even though I never intended to become a yoga teacher, I decided to complete a two-year yoga training program with Dani. It was another gift, another chapter of personal transformation. Sometimes I say, half-joking and half-serious, that I became pregnant thanks to yoga. But the truth is that what yoga really did was bring me back to myself. It taught me how to listen, how to care for myself, and how to trust my own journey. And from that place, everything in my life began to change for the better.
